I am SAI KAUSTUV DASGUPTA. I was born in Siliguri, West Bengal, India. It is a scenic place, with the mighty Himalayas guarding it on the north and east and the majestic Ganga following across the land in the south. The land is fertile and the people are calm, hardworking and happy. The characteristics of this beautiful land helped to shape my character and creativity.
I was born a normal child in 1991, and as a toddler the moment I would see a dance, I would pick up those steps quickly. But around this time my bone also fractured every now and then. Actually my first fracture happened when I was just three and half months old. By the time I was a year old I had suffered three fractures! My parents consulted orthopaedic specialists, after examining me thoroughly they said that I was suffering from a disease called Osteogenesis Imperfecta. This is an extremely rare condition that happens to one in 20,000 births. It is also called "Brittle Bone Disease’.” I had already suffered more than 50 fractures. At present all my joints are fixed and I cannot do go out freely. But I captured the whole world through internet.
Life is full of challenges, but joy is also there to help one to face them courageously. In my life I have gone through many sufferings. My body has endured so many fractures in various parts, but on another side I have received blessings from millions of people. I have proved that you could fly high on the wings of self confidence and courage if you choose to Be HAPPY!
In spite of so many disabilities, I enjoy my life to the fullest through the power of positivity. Physically I am unable to do anything on my own and am fully dependent on my parents, because from my childhood I have been suffering from a brittle bone disease. I am unable to sit properly for long hours or walk as all my joints are fixed. Although I cannot go outside on my own, I use a Motorized Wheelchair to move around.
I do everything by operating a mouse with my left hand and that too with my two fingers only. My hands can’t reach the keyboard, but I can type quite fast by using a virtual on-screen keyboard. I click all letters by the mouse with two fingers and type all write-ups mails etc. In spite of being confined within four walls of my room, I have broken all the walls of obstacles and soared outward on wings of faith and self confidence. Being unable to do all regular works, I have taught myself to do such works, which normal people are unable to do
.
We undergo all these difficulties not because God is cruel and likes our sufferings, but because fire is a purifier. Our great poet Rabindranath Tagore has said that only when the incense stick smoulders, it gives out its fragrance and the lamp gives out light only when it burns.
I give inspirational, motivational talks around the world. I think my life is a LIVING INSPIRATION and through my life, I have inspired millions, who wanted to be happy and stressfree. I do inspire today's youths and help them to discover the purpose of their lives. I have already done Motivational Sessions with many countries and places like NEW JERSEY, ALBANY, MANHATTAN, NEW YORK, MELBOURNE, MALAYSIA, THILAND, SINGAPORE, INDONESIA etc. MY LIFE IS MY MESSAGE is not only a quote but it is the main inspiration of my life.
